TOURISM IN CAMEROON

Turism in Cameroon

Cameroon is a country found in the Central Western part of Africa, flanked to the North by a narrow strip of Lake Tchad, to the West by Nigeria, to the East by Central African Republic and to the South by Congo, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Found between latitude 2 degrees and 13 degrees North of the Equator and between longitude 8 degrees and 16 degrees East of Greenwich Meridian.

We could say that Cameroon is Africa in miniature and so the country has all what other countries of Africa have. This is one of the peaceful countries of Africa blessed with so many touristic potentials.

One of them is HOSPITALITY: Cameroonians in general and Kom in particular where FEPCIG HEADQUARTERS is, hold in mine that a foreigner is king. They therefore seek to help the foreigners who are in need. Tourists that come particularly to Belo-kom leave with little or no regret at all.

So, why should a tourist visit Cameroon, in particular a village called Njinikejem where FEPCIG headquarter is located?

ABOUT NJINIKEJEM

It should be noted that FEPCIG is based in a QUARTER called MUWA-NJINIKEJEM (a village in Belo, sub division of BOYO Division, NWR of Cameroon) in KOM FONDOM.

Kom is a tribe in the North West Region of the Republic of Cameroon. It's surrounded by five Divisions namely: Ngohketungia to the South, Bui and Dunga Mantung Divisions to the East, Menchum Division to the North and Mezam Division to the West. Kom is the most powerful of all the Fondoms in Cameroon since 1914; Kom has infact a wonderful historical background: it was the only tribe in Cameroon that defeated the Germans during the 1st world war.

ABOUT FONs PALACE

The word FON means "the person who rules the KOM people". The Fon lives in a place called a Palace. He is different from other human beings: it is belived the "FON NEVER DIES BUT GETS LOST AND IS REPLACED”. The Fon's Palace is found at LAIKOM, a wonderful touristic site containing AFO-A KOM. It's a statue which appears like carved wood. Once spoke many times, but it was stolen and sent to America. It was sent back to Kom because of its mysterious nature.
